Nina and Johnny had lived in the same community for 25 years. Their neighbors had become their family and , while they wanted to design a custom home to declutter and downsize, they knew for certain that they wanted to stay in the same neighborhood.
Conveniently, Nina and Johnny owned the lot next to their existing home. While the lot posed some unique challenges, it presented the perfect opportunity to create their dream home in the neighborhood they loved.
Having heard about Freedom Design + Build, Inc. through a mutual connection, Nina reached out to the team to get started.
The Design + Build Wishlist
Nina and Johnny describe their creation of their design style vision as a process. They both knew they wanted an open concept with great indoor - / outdoor flow and wanted the home customized to their lifestyle. Additionally, Nina was always inspired by beautiful beach homes and the modern , / contemporary design style . Without the help of a professional, she felt frustrated because she wasn’t sure how to combine the architectural styles that she loved.

The Custom Home Design
Today, Johnny and Nina are fully enjoying their custom home. They worked with the Freedom Design + Build, Inc. team to determine which luxury design elements to splurge on and couldn’t be happier with their decisions. This includes:
Custom Kitchen Island
Life revolves around the custom 11-foot kitchen island in this custom home. It acts as a central gathering place for friends and family.
Open Concept Design
The first floor is an open concept design. This thoughtful design also kept the outdoor living space in mind. On the first floor the kitchen opens into the living room, and space continues to flow into the outdoor living area. This design was custom to Johnny and Nina’s lifestyle and provides them with the design they need to entertain guests comfortably.
Outdoor Living Space
Designing a beautiful outdoor living space was an essential part of this project. We built a retaining wall along the garage, which naturally created a space for a future patio. This resulted in a beautiful outdoor space for entertaining guests.
The Crow’s Nest
A unique crow’s nest with panoramic views sits at the top of this custom home. Johnny works from home and has some of the best views from his home office.
Broad Vision. Careful Thought. Handcrafted Design.
